So The Human Fog starring Lee Mason, Brett Swain and Georgia Bolton is hitting the festival circuit this year, depending on how many festivals it gains entry to we’d like to launch the film online around June some time. What’s it about? here’s the official logline and Synopsis
Logline:
A self obsessed, anxiety riddled cynic receives an unwanted visit from a friend struggling with the reality of recently being dumped.
Synopsis:
Graham hasn’t been outside his house for some time, preferring to exist within the solitude of his bunker like home. This morbid self-obsessed existence consists of smoking pot, listening to records and flickering through high-speed Internet porn. With a rich inner narrative Graham ponders the personal anxieties that orbit within his cynical universe. Enter Billy, the unwanted visitor who interrupts Graham’s morbid world. Billy is a confused mess, much to Graham’s delight and misery.
So there you go..it also features two full length tracks by the late Rowland S Howard and I can’t help but thank Ga Ga Music, Native Tongue and Liberation Records for their collective help in securing these licenses. The film runs at around 25mins, some might call that self indulgent, some might say it doesn’t carry enough narrative weight to support that length, I say: it is what it fucking is, no more and no less.
The Human Fog has always intended to be more than just a one off film. Bandit Films has always had the intention of trying to create characters beyond the classic short film format. We always wanted to create characters that could have a life of their own, age as the actors aged with an interweaving narrative that evolved via intuition and sheer artistic cunning. What could this evolve to? A TV series? Maybe? A Web Series? I hope not I hate that fucking term, no I’m thinking a “web based narrative experiment” would probably be closer to the concept we have in mind, maybe running alongside a TV series, who knows, we’ll see.
What we do know is that we are currently involved in preproduction on the second instalment of the narrative that is The Human Fog..”The Anger Around Us Speaks” will be our next film.. hopefully we can cast and get shooting and push this film out into the world…..
